In terms of overhead, all of the New-TCP flows show similar distributions to<br />

that of St<strong>and</strong>ard TCP - except for FAST which again maintains a narrow<br />

distribution with the highest overhead. This is shown in Figure 9.39. One<br />

could argue that H-TCP has the best (i.e. lowest) overhead. However, the<br />

notches indicate that the large 95 percentile range between all algorithms<br />

overlap.<br />

9.3.6 Summary<br />

Whilst the included network paths are in no way indicative of the typical<br />

network topology <strong>and</strong> network load, they offer an indication of the expected
