RIVER BASIN ORGANIZATIONS AND COMMISSIONS<br />
Finnish-Norwegian Transboundary Water Commission.<br />
The Commission acts as a body for cooperation and communication between the two states. Its aim is to<br />
preserve the transboundary watercourses and their unique natural conditions. It also safeguards the<br />
environmental interests of both states and the residents of the border region. The Commission has an<br />
advisory role.<br />
