GENERAL TREATIES AND AGREEMENTS EU Water Framework Directive The Directive establishes a framework for the Community action in the field of water policy. The EUWFD expands the scope of water protection to all waters and sets a clear objectives that “good status” must be achieved for all <strong>Europe</strong>an waters by 2015 and that sustainable water use is ensured throughout <strong>Europe</strong>.
