employment opportunists has been created in 16 districts
during 2008 as follows.

Table 7.17 provides the details of the progress by Districts
during the period of May 16th 2008 to 31st December
2008. Kurunagala approved the highest number of loans
and followed by Kandy and Badulla Districts approving
same number of loans. In terms of the amount disbursed
Kurunagala District accounts for Rs.133.2 mn where
as Matara and Kandy contributed 93.4 mn and 75 mn
respectively. This trend shows that Kandy, Badulla, Galle ,
Matara and Ratnapura Districts have contributed around 60
percent out of total disbursement since the loan seems to be
more attractive in the tea sector.
