Estate Infrastructure Development
Several projects were implemented focusing on the plantation
sector with a view to upgrade the living standards of people
in plantations in Nuwara Eliya, Badulla, Ratnapura, Kegalle
and Kalutara Districts. These included programmes to
upgrade health and educational facilities, estate housing,
estate roads and bridges, water supply and sanitation,
vocational training at a cost of Rs. 585 million, benefiting
251,700 estate sector people.
