Article III: Membership<br />
1. All students at <strong>Sweet</strong> <strong>Briar</strong> <strong>College</strong> shall be members of the SGA.<br />
2. The rights of the members of the SGA include:<br />
a. The presentation of petitions, appeals against the decisions of the<br />
Executive Committee, or proposals for amendments to the Constitution<br />
and By-Laws. Such petitions, appeals, and proposals must be considered<br />
by the Executive Committee.<br />
b. Participation in campus discussions.<br />
Article IV: Legislative Powers<br />
1. The SGA officers shall exercise the legislative powers.<br />
2. These powers shall be to:<br />
a. Ratify the rules, regulations, and policies concerning extracurricular<br />
activities except as otherwise provided.<br />
b. Propose and discuss rules and regulations that must be referred to the<br />
Executive Committee prior to a vote.<br />
c. Approve the budget derived from the <strong>Student</strong> Life Fund, as proposed by<br />
the Budget Committee, only after notification to the entire student body<br />
of the proposal prior to approval.<br />
3. The SGA reserves the right to change rules and regulations within its<br />
authority at any time during the academic year. Upon alteration, the<br />
Constitution will be updated online. Once posted, the online copy will be the<br />
copy used for all proceedings.<br />
Article V: Executive Powers<br />
1. The SGA officers shall exercise the executive powers of the SGA.<br />
2. The voting SGA officers shall consist of the following:<br />
a. President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, and the Electoral Officer<br />
and the Publicity Officer of the SGA, who shall be the Executive<br />
Committee.<br />
b. The Co-Chairs of the Judicial Committee.<br />
c. The Vice Presidents of the four classes.<br />
d. The President of the Campus Events Organization.<br />
e. The Chair of the Academic Affairs Committee.<br />
f. The SGA Representative of the Non-Residential, Turning Point and<br />
Transfer students.<br />
g. The Residence Life Representative.<br />
h. The President of Inter-Club Council.<br />
3. The non-voting SGA officers shall consist of the Presidents of the four<br />
classes.<br />
4. The executive powers of SGA shall be exercised by the officers of the<br />
Executive Committee and shall be to:<br />
