4. If a Chair position remains vacant after two election cycles, then the<br />
President, with consultation of other officers, will appoint a student<br />
who fulfills ICC requirements to fill the position for the remaining<br />
duration of the term.<br />
C. The Secretary shall be:<br />
1. A member of the first-year class.<br />
2. Self-nominated at a class meeting during fall orientation.<br />
3. Chosen after interview and selection by the other officers.<br />
D. The Advisor shall be:<br />
1. Appointed by the Dean of Co-Curricular Life.<br />
2. Reviewed as needed by the ICC President and the Dean.<br />
3. If there is a request for a change of advisor by any CO, the protocol is<br />
as follows:<br />
a. A meeting with the current CO advisor must take place with the<br />
President and Vice President of the club. The secretary must also<br />
be present to record minutes for said meeting, but shall not have a<br />
speaking role.<br />
b. The CO must submit a change of advisor form to Co-Curricular<br />
life, which contains:<br />
i. Signature of the president of the CO<br />
ii. Signature of the new advisor for the CO<br />
iii. Signature of the Director of <strong>Student</strong> Involvement and Programs<br />
iv. Minutes from the meeting with the current CO advisor<br />
Section IV: COs<br />
A. CO’s, with the exception of tap clubs, are open to all students. All CO’s<br />
must endeavor to contribute positively to the <strong>College</strong> life by enriching the<br />
environment of <strong>Sweet</strong> <strong>Briar</strong> <strong>College</strong>. They must have at least ten active,<br />
interested members, including officers.<br />
B. Tap clubs are limited membership groups of individuals that must also have<br />
at least ten active, interested members, including officers. New members are<br />
chosen and initiated into the club by current members, for the purpose of<br />
furthering the stated unique aims of the tap club.<br />
C. Media organizations may have less than ten members, including officers.<br />
1. Their purpose is to complete a specific project or task that may be<br />
planning, educational, or training in nature. Organizations such as<br />
WNRS, The <strong>Briar</strong> Patch, Red Clay and The Voice are student-led<br />
organizations. Participation in Media organizations is open to every<br />
student on campus regardless of their chosen course of study or specific<br />
skills. As student-led organizations, they are under the governance of<br />
the Inter-Club Council, the regulatory body for all student-led CO’s,<br />
and as such, they receive funding from the <strong>Student</strong> Government<br />
Association.<br />
