3. The intentional unsanctioned use, abuse, taking, destruction, sabotage,<br />

misappropriation, or vandalism of the private property of other members of the<br />

SBC community, or <strong>College</strong> property such as, but not limited to:<br />

a. SGA funds or accounts,<br />

b. IDs, keys, computer systems;<br />

c. Dining hall implements;<br />

d. The appropriation for exclusive personal use of community property.<br />

4. The intentional disruption or obstruction outside the boundaries of legitimate<br />

<strong>College</strong> operations, discourse, or activities; giving false information to or<br />

defying a legitimate request of a <strong>College</strong> official; or failing to perform or<br />

comply with the terms of a sanction.<br />

5. The intentional invasion of the privacy of another student, which constitutes the<br />

disclosure of confidential information including, but not limited to:<br />

a. Another student’s official <strong>College</strong> admissions, academic, computer, or<br />

disciplinary files or records; or accessing or disclosing private information<br />

such as bank records or election results;<br />

b. Discussing the confidential, specific, identifying facts from a Judicial<br />

investigation or case outside of the formal process or legitimate Judicial<br />

Committee business;<br />

c. A student under investigation who confronted the individuals who<br />

initiated a complaint or acted as a witness before the onset of the judicial<br />

process or after an investigation, hearing, or trial were completed.<br />

6. The violation of the following officially published <strong>College</strong> Policies:<br />

a. Substance abuse, including, but not limited to, misuse of Alcohol (pp. 62-<br />

65); Drugs (pp.66-67); or Smoking (p.67).<br />

b. Terms or Conditions of Residency (p.91).<br />

c. The <strong>College</strong>’s official Code of Conduct and <strong>College</strong> Policies concerning:<br />

i. Hazing (pp.67-71);<br />

ii. Harassment (p.74);<br />

iii. Anti-Discrimination (p.71);<br />

iv. Civility and Respect (p.73);<br />

7. Violating the Honor Principle while representing <strong>Sweet</strong> <strong>Briar</strong>.<br />

8. The violation of Federal, State or local law, (including check fraud, and the sale<br />

of controlled substances). Membership in the <strong>Sweet</strong> <strong>Briar</strong> community does not<br />

mean privileged or immune status from local, State, or Federal laws. In<br />

situations involving the serious violation of state or federal law, the <strong>College</strong><br />

reserves the rights to proceed against the student in question independently of<br />

whatever actions are taken by governmental authorities.<br />

9. Failure to take “constructive action” after potentially committing, or having<br />

direct knowledge of a potential commission of a violation of the Honor<br />

Principle. “Constructive action” constitutes reporting the potential violation<br />

within 72 hours to the Judicial Committee Academic or Non-Academic Chair.<br />

10. Deceiving or lying to a member of the Judicial Committee in the investigation<br />

or adjudication of an issue before the Judicial Committee.<br />

11. Attempted or actual harassment, intimidation or attempt to influence the<br />

testimony of any witness to a judicial investigation or proceeding.<br />
