<strong>Sweet</strong> <strong>Briar</strong> <strong>College</strong> Tap Club Council<br />
The <strong>Sweet</strong> <strong>Briar</strong> <strong>College</strong> Tap Club Council was created in 2009 as a standing<br />
committee under ICC to facilitate interaction among tap clubs, for the purpose<br />
of supporting and promoting these groups on campus. The mission of the Tap<br />
Club Council is to: promote tap club traditions on campus; bring tap clubs<br />
together by facilitating an open forum where tap clubs can discuss and<br />
coordinate group activities; keep tap clubs informed about the regulations and<br />
activities on campus; and promote tap clubs to faculty, staff, administration, and<br />
most importantly students. The group will also serve as a liaison between the<br />
students and faculty/administration. Tap clubs promote inter-tap club relations<br />
within the <strong>College</strong> and throughout the community.<br />
Constitution of the Tap Club Council at <strong>Sweet</strong> <strong>Briar</strong> <strong>College</strong><br />
Article I: Name<br />
The name of this organization shall be the <strong>Sweet</strong> <strong>Briar</strong> <strong>College</strong> Tap Club<br />
Council.<br />
Article II: Mission Statement & Objectives<br />
The mission of the <strong>Sweet</strong> <strong>Briar</strong> <strong>College</strong> Tap Club Council shall be to:<br />
1. Promote any and all tap club traditions on campus.<br />
2. Bring Tap Clubs together by facilitating an open forum where they can safely<br />
discuss all of their “secrets.”<br />
3. Keep Tap Clubs informed of all the regulations and activities on campus.<br />
4. Promote Tap Clubs to faculty, staff, administration, and most importantly<br />
students.<br />
5. Be the liaisons between the students, faculty, etc. and the Tap Clubs.<br />
6. Promote inter-Tap Club relations within the <strong>College</strong> and throughout the<br />
community.<br />
The objectives of the <strong>Sweet</strong> <strong>Briar</strong> <strong>College</strong> Tap Club Council shall be to:<br />
1. Promote inter-Tap Club relations within the <strong>College</strong> and throughout the<br />
community<br />
2. Cooperate with SBC administration for the purpose of promoting the<br />
support of Tap Clubs on campus.<br />
3. Plan an educational/social event for the first year class during the fall<br />
semester.<br />
4. Administer all business related to the semester of each year.<br />
5. Sponsor or co-sponsor an anti-hazing education event once a semester.<br />
6. Administer all business related to the welfare of the recognized tap clubs<br />
on campus.<br />
