a. The external community event can include <strong>Sweet</strong> <strong>Briar</strong> community<br />
members, but should not be limited to <strong>Sweet</strong> <strong>Briar</strong> students,<br />
faculty, or staff.<br />
b. The <strong>Sweet</strong> <strong>Briar</strong> community service can be in the form of an event.<br />
c. All club service events must be pre-approved by the ICC chairs<br />
through the club community service approval forms.<br />
d. Clubs and organizations (CO’s) categorized as Media are exempt<br />
from performing the community service and community event<br />
obligations required of all CO’s that are under the governance of<br />
the Inter-Club Council.<br />
8. CO’s are encouraged to fundraise as needed.<br />
B. All recognized CO’s receive privileges from the ICC that include:<br />
A. SGA/CEO/SBO funding (active CO’s only).<br />
B. Representation on the ICC and SGA.<br />
C. Participation in leadership development programs.<br />
D. Right to use Prothro boards and post advertisements throughout the<br />
<strong>College</strong>.<br />
E. Right to use <strong>College</strong> facilities to host CO events and activities.<br />
F. Listing in the <strong>Student</strong> <strong>Handbook</strong> and other <strong>College</strong> publications.<br />
Section VI: Requirements of Existing CO’s<br />
A. To maintain a recognized CO, a CO must submit to their representative ICC<br />
Chair:<br />
1. A constitution that adheres to ICC guidelines, annually.<br />
2. A list of properly elected officers, and a faculty or staff advisor.<br />
3. A roster of potentially active members, consistent with the CO<br />
description.<br />
4. Fulfill all other duties assigned to CO’s once recognized.<br />
Section VII: Formation of CO’s<br />
1. To apply for CO status, a potential CO must:<br />
1. Complete the new CO packet that can be found in Co-Curricular Life.<br />
2. Contact appropriate ICC chair in writing as to the intentions of<br />
becoming a CO.<br />
3. If applicable, a meeting is also part of this process in cases of which:<br />
i. CO’s that have the potential to have high liabilities e.g. athleticrelated<br />
COs.<br />
ii. CO’s which are unsure if they are able to meet ICC requirements.<br />
4. Submit to the representative ICC Chair:<br />
i. A constitution that adheres to ICC guidelines.<br />
ii. A list of proposed officers, and a faculty or staff advisor.<br />
iii. A roster of potentially active members, consistent with the CO<br />
description.<br />
