i. The <strong>Student</strong> Representatives will consist of one senior, two juniors, two<br />

sophomores and two first years.<br />

ii. <strong>Student</strong> Representatives cannot hold another position on the Judicial<br />

Committee.<br />

b. <strong>Student</strong> Representatives may be called to assist the Judicial Committee<br />

Secretaries.<br />

c. <strong>Student</strong> Representatives may be called to assist the Judicial Chairwomen<br />

and Administrative Representatives in reaching an outcome and/or sanction<br />

in an Academic or Non-Academic Conduct Hearing.<br />

4. Administrative Representatives<br />

a. The Judicial Committee will have two Administrative Representatives to<br />

ensure the Judicial Chairwomen adhere to <strong>College</strong> policies while enforcing<br />

the Honor System.<br />

b. The Dean of the Faculty (or such other member of the faculty or<br />

administration as the Dean may from time to time designate) will serve as<br />

the Administrative Representative for Academic Hearing or Trials.<br />

c. The Director of Residence Life (or such other member of the faculty or<br />

administration as the Dean may from time to time designate) will serve as<br />

the Administrative Representative for Hearings and the Dean of Co-<br />

Curricular Life will serve as the Administrative Representative for Trials.<br />

5. Faculty Representatives<br />

a. The Judicial Committee will have two faculty members serve as Judicial<br />

Committee Faculty Representatives.<br />

b. The Faculty Representatives are elected every year by the faculty.<br />

D. Additional Parties<br />

1. Advocate<br />

a. Any student under investigation and any student complainant may seek the<br />

support of an Advocate.<br />

b. An Advocate may be a member of the administration, faculty or student<br />

body who is not party or witness to the case or a member of the Judicial<br />

Committee.<br />

c. Although not a member of the Judicial Committee, an Advocate is bound<br />

by the confidentiality rules of the Judicial Process.<br />

d. The role of the Advocate is to provide emotional support. Although an<br />

Advocate may assist in the preparation of the defense and be present at the<br />

Hearing or Trial, it is the student’s obligation to present her own defense in<br />

a Hearing or Trial.<br />

2. Honor Advisor<br />

a. The Assistant Dean of First Year and Sophomore <strong>Student</strong> Programs will<br />

serve as an Honor Advisor.<br />

b. The Honor Advisor can respond to procedural questions related to the<br />

judicial process.<br />

c. The Honor Advisor is not a member of the Judicial Committee.<br />

i. The Honor Advisor serves as an independent and impartial advisor to members<br />

of the community about the Honor System and supports the efforts of the<br />

Judicial Committee to educate students and the community about the Honor<br />

System.<br />
