Your Company concluded 2012 with recordbreaking<br />

performance. Consolidated service<br />

revenues were at an all-time high of ₱82.7B<br />

– a strong 6% above last year’s, reflecting<br />

tremendous growth despite a very challenging<br />

competitive environment. Core net income<br />

sustained healthy growth of 2% to ₱10.3B,<br />

revealing highly positive business momentum<br />

when isolated from one-time, nonrecurring<br />

expenses. Against a compelling backdrop<br />

of outstanding business outcomes, we also<br />

increased our dividend payout by 3% and<br />

remained true to our policy of distributing 75%<br />

to 90% of the previous year’s core net income.<br />

These results reflect your Company in fighting<br />

form as a true market challenger wrestling<br />

competition, winning over consumer preference,<br />

and championing integrity in business practice.<br />

We have been driving a total transformation for the past<br />

3 years, all throughout anchoring every move on strong<br />

customer-focus and an enriched experience. Following<br />

through on our commitment, we are transforming holistically<br />

to serve customers better.<br />

We set out to build a brand new network that would greatly<br />

improve the quality of mobile experience in the Philippines.<br />

At this point, I am proud to announce that close to 90%<br />

of cell sites nationwide have already been replaced with<br />

state-of-the-art equipment that will bring pervasive 3G<br />

signal. Progressively in metro cities, we are rolling out<br />

4G/LTE performance and services with close to 800 sites<br />

strong before 2014. Capacity boosting for all our facilities<br />

is simultaneously underway as we are laying out an<br />

additional 12,000 kilometers of fiber-optic cable across the<br />

country. This entire undertaking importantly greens our<br />

operations with dramatically lower power consumption and<br />

a much smaller carbon footprint as we forge on with our<br />

forward-looking thrust towards environmental care and the<br />

sustainability of our operations. We have adopted and will<br />

continue to employ eco-friendly solutions such as the more<br />

prevalent use of solar-power and deep cycle batteries, as<br />

well as the shift to outdoor facility models that cancel the<br />

need for air-conditioning.<br />

We also endeavored to integrate 200-plus antiquated IT<br />

systems to raise the bar of how we deal with customers.<br />

Our IT transformation is well underway to enable the<br />

seamless stitch between service subscriptions and<br />

real-time billing, all the way through to comprehensive<br />

after-sales service. We have just freshly launched a new<br />

business support system to this end that dramatically<br />

changes the workflow for our front-liners, and the overall<br />

experience for our customers in corollary improvement.<br />

Soon a new business intelligence platform shall come on<br />

line as well to know customers more intimately, and in so<br />

doing, we shall be able to develop spot-on services for<br />

them with more relevance and urgency.<br />
