About the Report<br />
This is the fifth Sustainability Report issued by Globe<br />
Telecom covering the operations of Globe Telecom Inc. in<br />
the Philippines. The purpose of the report is to communicate<br />
enduring commitments to transparency and accountability as<br />
a responsibility towards the Company’s stakeholders. Globe<br />
has committed to its mission in transforming and enriching<br />
lives by means of communication and great transformations<br />
which was reflected in the 2011 Sustainability Report. In<br />
the year 2012, the transformation stories continued but with<br />
faster and bigger changes that made a difference for the<br />
customers and employees.<br />
This Report discusses and presents the data and metrics<br />
tracked by the different business units and enabling groups.<br />
It is an important document for the company enabling<br />
research and study of its business processes and programs<br />
related to triple bottomline (viz. Environment, Economic &<br />
Society) – considering all possible impact its operations may<br />
bring. Thus, identifying possible ways of doing measures for<br />
the overall growth and sustainable development.<br />
Reporting Period<br />
This report summarizes the significant impacts of<br />
Environmental, Economic & Social Initiatives carried out by<br />
Globe from January 2012 to December 2012. To quantify<br />
performance measures, it includes data for the previous<br />
year, 2011 to help readers in identifying trends and yearon-year<br />
comparison. Significant improvements came about<br />
on the report w<strong>here</strong>in the company focused on presenting<br />
scope, boundary and measurement methods which prove<br />
Globe Telecom’s position in telecommunications and in<br />
transformation.<br />
Reporting Scope and Boundaries<br />
This report covers solely Globe Telecom’s operations in the<br />
Philippines including our corporate offices and network sites.<br />
Reporting Cycle<br />
The report is released annually based on the Company’s<br />
fiscal year. Globe Telecom’s fiscal year is concurrent with the<br />
calendar year – January 2012 to December 2012.<br />
Reporting Framework<br />
We aim to align the Company’s approach towards<br />
sustainability reporting by following the Global Reporting<br />
Initiative (GRI) G 3.1.<br />

Globe Telecom has once again had the report externally<br />
assured. The assurance engagement was conducted by<br />
TÜV Rheinland, a global independent third party. Globe has<br />
increased its disclosures on TBL Performance Indicators<br />
as compared to year 2011, thus pursuing its commitment<br />
towards increased transparency and responsiveness. Globe<br />
Telecom is pleased to announce that it has achieved B+ level<br />
of assurance reporting on 66 Performance Indicator (PIs) for<br />
its 2012 sustainability report.
