SPECIAL <strong>REGULATIONS</strong><br />

8.6.11.1.2 RESIDENTIAL SUBDIVISION: Signs with a maximum size of 16 square feet,<br />

limited to one per subdivision, placed outside of the road right of way and with<br />

a maximum height of 8 feet. Subdivision signs shall be removed prior to the<br />

issuance of a building permit for the last lot remaining in the subdivision.<br />

8.6.11.2 SIGNS IN COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL ZONES INCLUDING:<br />

8.6.11.2.1 BUILDING: signs with a maximum size of one square foot of signage for every<br />

one running foot of frontage, one sign per business frontage, to a maximum of<br />

24 square feet for any one business. Where multiple storefronts exist, this<br />

requirement shall limit the square footage of each individual storefront's sign,<br />

based on the running frontage of each individual storefront. For the purpose of<br />

this Regulation a building's frontage shall be that portion of a building which<br />

faces either a street or parking area and which provides the primary customer<br />

access.<br />

8.6.11.2.2 COMMERCIAL SUBDIVISION: signs with a maximum size of 16 square feet,<br />

limited to one per subdivision, placed outside of the road right of way and with<br />

a maximum height of 8 feet. Subdivision signs shall be removed prior to the<br />

issuance of a building permit for the last lot remaining in the subdivision.<br />

8.6.12 SIGNS PERMITTED FOLLOWING THE ISSUANCE <strong>OF</strong> A SITE PLAN AND A<br />

SIGN PERMIT.<br />

8.6.12.1 Signs in Commercial and Industrial Zones Including:<br />

8.6.12.1.1 Building: Signs, which identify space, located on any floor above the first floor<br />

of a building, at a maximum rate of one half of a square foot of signage for<br />

every running foot of the building's second floor frontage. The maximum area<br />

of any building sign, serving a tenant who occupies space above the first floor<br />

is 12 square feet.<br />

8.6.12.1.2 Either a Freestanding Sign containing a maximum area of 9 square feet; or a<br />

Directory Sign containing a maximum of 30 square feet with no more than 5<br />

square feet dedicated to any occupant may be permitted per lot. Freestanding<br />

and directory signs shall have a maximum height (8) eight feet. The posts of<br />

such signs shall not be more than 6 feet apart, measured from the center of<br />

each post.<br />

8.6.12.2 SIGNS IN RESIDENTIAL ZONES:<br />

8.6.12.2.1 Freestanding: Signs for Non-Residential, Special Permit Uses within<br />

Residential Zones with a maximum size of 9 square feet, limited to one per lot<br />

and placed outside of the road right of way, with a maximum height of (6) six<br />

feet, provided the sign is compatible with the residential character of the area.<br />

The posts of such signs shall not be more than 4 feet apart, measured from<br />

the center of each post.<br />
