Z4 Continuity Tie
The Z4 “CT” is a steel tube with steel
end plates welded to both ends designed
to transfer tension and compression
forces from one beam to another
(Continuity Tie application) or from a
beam to a perpendicular wall (Wall Tie
application). Connections are made by
bolting the tube to a wood member and
attaching to a threaded rod for
transferring forces.
hold-down device. Sandwiched
Installations are made by through bolting
two wood members with a T2 between
and “Paired Installations” through bolt
two T2 connectors with a wood member
between. For both installation methods
the tube is then attached to a threaded
rod to transfer the tension loads.
