1) Factored resistances have been increased 15% for short-term load duration; no further increased is allowed.<br />
2) 10d common (0.148" x 3" long) nails may be substituted with no load reduction.<br />

4) The 115% values are short-term loads such as wind and earthquake.<br />
5) RJ after the model indicates LSTADs for rim joist applications as in LSTAD8RJ.<br />
6) Interpolate allowable loads for edge distances between those listed. Nail quantities may be reduced for<br />
less than lE corner distance design loads- use the code allowable loads for fasteners in shear.<br />
7) Where fewer fasteners are used in the structural wood member, reduce loads according to the code.<br />
8) Minimum nail embedment shall be 8 nail diameters (typ).<br />

2) When 16d Sinker nails are specified, 10d common (0.148" diameter x 3" long) nails may be substituted with no load reduction.<br />
3) Wood thickness shall be no less than 3 inches (2 - 2x members)<br />
4) An edge distance of 1/2" implies that the distance from the corner of the wall to the edge of the strap is no less than 1/2".<br />
5) An edge distance of 1.5 x I E implies that the minimum distance from the corner of the wall to the centerline of the strap is no less than 1.5 times the embedment depth.<br />
6) For edge distances between 1/2" and 1.5 x l E calculate loads using straight line interpolation.<br />
7) Minimum anchor spacing for full capacity is 2 x l E . For spacing less than that reduce capacity proportionally.<br />
8) Minimum concrete strength f'c = 2500 psi<br />
9) Minimum 1-#4 rebar shall be installed in the shear cone<br />
