Post Caps – BC, C, PB, PBES, & PBS series
BC – One-piece design for double 2x’s to a 4x post.
C – One-piece design.
PB – Two-piece design.
PBES & PBS – Two-piece design with extended side plates and wrap around post design. Easy retrofit installations.
Materials: 18 gauge
Finish: G90 galvanizing, BC400-TZ, PB44-6TZ & PB66-6TZ – G-185 galvanizing; PB44-6GC & PB66-6GC – Gold Coat
Options: C44, C46, C46R, C66, C66R, PBS44, PBS66, PBS66R, PBES44, & PBES66 are available in Triple Zinc.
To order, add TZ to stock number, as in PBS44-TZ. C44, PBES44, PBES66, PBS44 & PBS66 are available in
Stainless Steel. To order, add SS to stock number, as in C44-SS.
Codes: Load values are derived from data submitted to various North American building code evaluators.
Installation:
• Use all specified fasteners. See Product Notes, page 10.
• These products are designed to work with single, solid-sawn beams, but can be used with built-up beams. When installed to
multiple beams made up of 2x lumber and shims, fasten the plys and shims together to act as a unit.
• PB, PBES, and PBS post caps are to be installed in pairs.

1) Factored resistances have been increased 15% for short-term loads such as wind and earthquake; reduce for other load durations in accordance with the code.
2) Factored resistances and nail schedules for two-piece models are per pair of post caps.
3) Minimum nail embedment shall be 8 nail diameters (typ).
