5 TRAINING & AWARENESS
As a part of the site induction process employees and contractors will undergo awareness training to
highlight the importance of dust and noise management. The training will cover dust and noise
management and monitoring strategies and responsibilities as well as provide employees with strategies
to minimise their impact.
Dust and noise management, employee responsibility and ongoing site dust and noise performance will
be discussed and reinforced during toolbox meetings on site.
A copy of the NDMP will be provided on site and accessible by all employees and contractors.
6 COMMUNITY RELATIONS
The Project is committed to involve the community in aspects of impact management. This approach
enables the Project to establish a positive community attitude towards its activities in the area.
The Project will maintain open lines of communication with neighbouring residents to discuss Project
related issues and concerns.
The Project will, at its discretion, continue to liaise with neighbouring residents for the purpose of
informing them about environmental issues, including dust and noise, and updating them on planned
operations.
If a dust or noise complaint is received by a member of the public, or an internal observation is made by a
Project employee or contractor this will trigger the contingency action plan (Refer Section 8).
Queries and complaints will be handled as per Section 4.6 of the OEMP.
7 MONITORING
The Project is committed to audit and monitor its environmental performance on a regular basis, and
make relevant information about the Project activities publicly available.
Monitoring will be conducted for two purposes:
1 For regulatory compliance
2 For gathering of information for management purposes
7.1 DUST MONITORING PROGRAM
Dust monitoring will be undertaken on a complaints basis. The location of the monitoring sites for the
HVA sampler will be dependent on locations of powerlines. Suitable monitoring locations will be
determined based on the location of the complainant.
Monitoring will occur according the schedule listed in
Table 7-1. TSP monitoring using the DVA sampler will be subject to availability of fixed 240V power
supplies. When this is not available monitoring may be substituted with mobile equipment that does not
require fixed power supplies.
