COASTAL AND FORESHORE FACILITIES ASSET MANAGEMENT AND EXPANSION PLAN COUNCIL 24/04/2013 ITEM 12.1 ATTACHMENT A Allocations Individual Country Local Governments Funding Regional Groups of Country Local Governments - assistance to groups of local governments to fund larger scale infrastructure projects which clearly demonstrate wider community benefits across a region. Grants are provided to partnerships of community groups and local government /coastal managers to undertake on-ground coastal and marine rehabilitation, restoration and preventative conservation projects ie. revegetation, fencing, weeding, pathways, boardwalks, dune restoration. Application closes late July 2012 Next round will be announced approximately in March 2013 and would close several months later. To be confirmed. 7.7 Recreational Boating Facilities Scheme – Department of Transport CONTACT: Biddy Myres 9216 8917 http://www.transport.wa.gov.au/imarine/19116.asp The RBFS provides grants to eligible authorities for the planning and construction of public boating infrastructure in WA which benefits recreational boat users. Eligible projects include the construction of, or planning for: • Maritime facilities such as boat launching ramps, finger jetties, moorings, and channels and breakwaters directly related to a public boating facility. • Land-based items located at a public boating facility, such as parking areas for boat trailers, toilets, waste facilities, fish cleaning tables and relevant signage regarding marine safety, fishing and other information. • Infrastructure which enhances access to boating, such as universal access paths. • Grants are available for up to 75% of the estimated cost of a project, but are limited to: City of Busselton and Shire of Augusta Margaret River PAGE 137
