3. CURRENT AND FUTURE DEMAND
3.1 Demand Forecast
Factors affecting demand include changes in demographics, seasonal factors, vehicle
ownership, consumer preferences and expectations, economic factors, agricultural practices
and environmental awareness.
Demand factor trends and impacts on service delivery are summarised in Table 3.

Whilst the proportion of
age groups is not
expected to change
dramatically, the ageing
population will see an
increase in people

universal access will be

It is worth noting that Category 1 and 2 recreational nodes (refer to section 3.4 for definitions)
are also affected by population growth in the region (areas outside the City of Busselton),
creating a demand growth considerably higher than the Category 3 nodes, which are mostly
used by local residents.
