3. CURRENT AND FUTURE DEMAND
3.1 Demand Forecast
Factors affecting demand include changes in demographics, seasonal factors, vehicle
ownership, accessibility, consumer preferences and expectations, economic factors,
agricultural practices and environmental awareness.
Demand factor trends and impacts on service delivery are summarised in Table 3.

It is worth noting that Category 1 and 2 recreational nodes are also affected by population
growth in the region (areas outside the Augusta Margaret River Shire), creating a demand
growth considerably higher than the Category 3 nodes, which are mostly used by local
residents.
