The initial version of the custom report builder has been completed. A user may use a togglebutton
on any chart to select it for inclusion in a custom report. The report generator will utilize
an XML configuration file that describes the format and contents of the report, which will be sent
to the user via email upon report generation. Initially, a PDF version of the report containing the
title, description and image for each selected chart will be available while later versions will
expand to other output formats.
A preliminary demonstration version of the custom report builder is shown below in Figure 13.
This demonstration version features two methods for generating a report. The first method allows
a user to select individual charts as viewed in XDMoD and add them to a report queue. From the
report queue the user can then generate a report and have it delivered via email, either as a onetime
report or a regularly scheduled report. Using the second method, the user can select a
combination of resource providers, resources, and metrics to be included in the report. The report
can be immediately down loaded or sent as an e-mail if it is a one-time report or scheduled to be
sent as an e-mail if it is a recurring report on the user selected intervals.
