generated as the testing of the candidate merits

The Plan to do an evaluation of the TEP
The evaluation tests were completed and demonstrated some areas that needed improvement.
Those changes have been made to the process. We have coordinated with the TIS group on the
information they require, and have documented that. We are coordinating with the XTED group
on the changes that we need in the database.
Goals
Our goal for this quarter is to have the formal version of the process accepted by all of TIS in
January and start testing real candidates thereafter. We are also coordinating on the software
candidate identification process with the rest of the group such that we receive a preliminary set
of candidates. We will also obtain a list of available resources and personnel for testing. During
this quarter, we will need to note the rate of testing, so that we can accurately estimate the amount
of future testing that can be done with TIS resources. We will also identify any changes needed in
the process which are noted during “real-world”testing.
9.1.4 Technology Insertion Support
The Technology Insertion Support (YNT) team facilitates transition of supported and
recommended technologies from evaluation to deployment by TeraGrid and XD service providers
and users. YNT works with the evaluation teams to ensure that deployment, design, installation,
configuration, maintenance, and usage methods for supported and recommended technologies are
sufficiently documented, together with validation tests and usage examples.
