6.5 RP Operations: Accounting/Core Services<br />
TG RP staff provided local allocations and account management support for users including<br />
account creation/deletion, password reset, and local system usage accounting. These staff<br />
interacted with the TG Account Management transaction system (AMIE), which is a transactionbased<br />
grid account management system that is central to all users having access to the TeraGrid.<br />

NCSA staff continues to support and maintain AMIE and contributed to the recent upgrade of the<br />
TGCDB.<br />

PSC continues to house, support and maintain the secondary instance of the TGCDB. The PSC<br />
staff continues to ensure replication between the secondary and the primary continues. PSC staff<br />

accounting infrastructure to track Trestles CPU usage and the Trestles resource was integrated<br />
into the TeraGrid via AMIE in December.<br />

TACC staff members continued to contributed to activities related to User Facing Projects and<br />
Core Services. Maytal Dahan led TGUP portal development activities including the development<br />
of vetted/unvetted user portal accounts and GridShib authentication to enable users to easily gain<br />
access to TeraGrid resources. Furthermore, this quarter the user portal team released expanded<br />
job service features. The user portal team released an interface to the Karnak prediction service<br />
offering start time and wait time predictions on TG resources. The team also released a ‘’My<br />
Jobs’’ feature, which lists the status of a user’s jobs on the TeraGrid. It also integrates Karnak by<br />
enabling prediction capabilities on queued jobs. The team continued to support the software and<br />
systems for both the TeraGrid User Portal and the TeraGrid Web Site. Katie Cohen and Kent<br />
Milfeld coordinated the TRAC review process and <strong>org</strong>anized the allocation review meeting held<br />
within the reporting period. In addition, the TACC team <strong>org</strong>anized and chaired the weekly<br />
allocations working group meetings, and processed all advance, startup and supplement allocation<br />
requests (275) during the reporting period.<br />
6.6 User Information Presentation<br />
This objective ensures that users are provided with current, accurate information from across the<br />
TeraGrid in a dynamic environment of resources, software and services. Operationally, this<br />
objective ensures high reliability of the presentation mechanisms, including quarterly operational<br />
support for the TGUP and TeraGrid web site. Support for TeraGrid internal web environments,<br />
notably the Wiki, is included here.<br />
Members of both the TGUP and Documentation teams received advance LifeRay training at the<br />
LifeRay corporate offices in CA.<br />
The TGUP and TeraGrid Web presence continued to increase its user base and support large<br />
numbers of visitors and page hits. Table 6-2 shows hits, visitors and logins for the TGUP, Web<br />
site and Wiki.<br />
