Globally. This association has only been described from Petrified Forest National Park. Until<br />

further inventory is completed, there is no global information.<br />

Petrified Forest National Park. This association occurred at 1790 m (5860 ft) elevation with<br />

little slope (5%). This relevé had a presence of mudstone surface rocks.<br />

USFWS wetl<strong>and</strong> system: Not applicable.<br />

<strong>Vegetation</strong> description:<br />

Globally. This association has only been described from Petrified Forest National Park. Until<br />

further inventory is completed, there is no global information.<br />

Petrified Forest National Park. Only one relevé was classified as Iva acerosa - Sporobolus<br />

airoides Shrubl<strong>and</strong> (Park Special), with total vegetation cover of 30%. This vegetation cover<br />

consisted of 20% cover in the shrub stratum <strong>and</strong> 10% cover in the herbaceous stratum. The<br />

species diversity for this relevé was 26 species. The vegetation in the shrub layer was dominated<br />

by Iva acerosa with 8% cover. Parryella filifolia also had a fairly high cover in the shrub<br />

layer with 4% cover. Sporobolus airoides dominated the herbaceous cover (7% cover).<br />
