<strong>Vegetation</strong> <strong>Classification</strong> <strong>and</strong> Distribution <strong>Mapping</strong> <strong>Report</strong>: Petrified Forest National Park<br />

are Aristida purpurea, Hesperostipa neomexicana (= Stipa neomexicana), Bouteloua gracilis, <strong>and</strong><br />

Bouteloua curtipendula.<br />

Petrified Forest National Park. Only one relevé was classified as Krascheninnikovia lanata<br />

Dwarf-shrubl<strong>and</strong>, with total vegetation cover of 34%. This vegetation cover consisted of 31%<br />

cover in the shrub stratum <strong>and</strong> 3% cover in the herbaceous stratum. The species diversity was<br />

15 species. The vegetation in the shrub layer was dominated by Krascheninnikovia lanata, with<br />

30% cover.<br />
