B18 Alkali Sacaton Herbaceous <strong>Vegetation</strong><br />
Location: Alkali Sacaton Herbaceous <strong>Vegetation</strong> occurred in small patches throughout the project area.<br />
This map class mainly occurred in the grassl<strong>and</strong>s in the northeastern, central, <strong>and</strong> southern sections of the<br />
park. It was often found in habitats with a little extra moisture such as areas with periodic sheet flow <strong>and</strong><br />
in small drainages.<br />
Photosignature: This photosignature st<strong>and</strong>s out in the short-grass prairie. It commonly appeared in dense<br />
linear patches that follow small washes or sheet-flow features. The color tended to be a light yellow to<br />
greenish brown. Although Sporobolus airoides commonly occurred throughout the park, this map class<br />
tended to have a higher cover <strong>and</strong> could be easily distinguished from mixed herbaceous associations of the<br />
adjacent map classes.<br />
