• Services rendered in the following situations, if any, will be computed for<br />

determining the eligibility for Normal Assessment:-<br />

Service rendered in a Sponsored Project/Scheme.<br />

Periods <strong>of</strong> leave including Extraordinary Leave (EOL) to the extent it<br />

counts for earning increments; <strong>and</strong> the period spent on deputation/Foreign<br />

Service.<br />

EOL granted for a full-time assignment within or outside the country.<br />

Ad-hoc/Supernumerary service provided under <strong>rules</strong> followed by regular<br />

appointment without break.<br />

For foreign assignment/deputation, study leave, EOL which has not<br />

resulted in break <strong>of</strong> service where no ACRs/APARs are available, average<br />

<strong>of</strong> percentage <strong>of</strong> marks as obtained for interview (including Trade Test)<br />

for all group will be counted for Normal Assessment only. If the<br />

ACRs/APARs for the said period are available, then the rating given by<br />

the outside organization will be converted into 7-Point Scale, For this<br />

purpose at least three ACRs/APARs written in GBPIHED are required.<br />

Period spent on prestigious fellowships will be considered for Merit<br />

Assessment provided ACRs/APARs for at least two years written in the<br />

GBPIHED are available.<br />

The period spent on <strong>of</strong>ficial deputation for which full salary has been paid<br />

<strong>and</strong> treated as duty will also be considered for Merit Assessment.<br />

• The Merit Assessment will come into effect from the date notified by the <strong>Institute</strong>.<br />

• Period spent on Sabbatical Leave will count for Normal Assessment only.<br />
