Maintenance
There are not much parts to maintain inside of the AS-93plus. Maintenance work is
basically related to guide rods and spindles of the X-, Y- and Z-drive which should be kept
slightly lubricated with a thin film of the following lubricants:
1. Spindles:
"Losymol" oil, P/N B0508429, comes in a 10 mL bottle
2. Guide rods:
"Nominol SD" grease, P/N B050-8430, comes in a 1 kg container
Dust and/or the aggressive vapors of the lab environment can make the surface of the
guide rods and spindles sticky over the time. In this case it might be necessary to clean
those surfaces by means of a tissue and eventually an organic solvent prior of applying
lubricants. Be careful with the use of Acetone. Acetone is an excellent solvent to remove
grease and/or oil from metallic surfaced, but is also rather aggressive to plastic surfaces.
It is recommended to protect somehow neighboring parts of the guide rods and spindles
such as plastic parts or PCBs prior of cleaning surfaces and applying lubricants.
