Firmware The firmware of the AS-93plus is identical with the firmware of the AS-90plus. During power-on initialization the presence of the pump module will be checked as a procedure of self-identification. The autosampler will be initialized as an AS-93plus, if the pump is connected to the controller PCB. Otherwise the firmware will initialize as an AS-90plus. The firmware is stored in a FLASH-RAM located on the controller PCB and can be downloaded via the AS-93plus Utilities program. A procedure is given in chapter Firmware Download on page 50. Direct commands The control of the autosampler is done usually by means of direct commands sent from the application software / Device Control Module (DCM) to the mechanical unit. It is the purpose of the firmware to interpret the command and convert them into action. In addition the firmware has to monitor all sensor signal and has to send data back to the application. For trouble-shooting purpose it might be useful to have a list of direct commands available as shown below: Identification Commands • get id query Autosampler identification name • get syst.vers query firmware version with date and time • get syst.serialno query Serial number of the autosampler • get syst.part query Part number of the autosampler Reset Command • reset action only Power on reset. To achieve the same effects as switching power on. Tray commands • set tray= action Load type of sample tray Parameter: 4,5,6 (tray E=4, tray F=5, tray G=6) • get tray query Read loaded type of sample tray 64 of 68 AS9N010B.STB
Pump Commands • stop control.pump action Switch off the pump • start control.pump action Switch on the pump X-, Y-, Z- Drive commands • init cntrl.x action X-drive moves to the home position • init cntrl.y action Y-drive moves to the home position • init cntrl.z action Z-drive moves to the home position • set up= action Move the autosampler arm upwards to position Parameter: 0.0-146.0, Default: 0 • get up query Read the current z-drive position • set down= action Move the autosampler arm downwards to position for a duration of milliseconds Parameter a: 0.0-146.0, Parameter b: no range check (resolution 15,625 ms), 0= stay forever Default: 0,0 • get down query Read the current z-drive position • set posup= action Move the z-drive to the upper end-position, then move x- and y-drive to sample position .
