(١٢)IS ALLAH (S.W) ONE OR THREE?1- VERSES THAT ATTRIBUTE DIVINITY AND LORDSHIPTO JESUS (PBUH)Chr<strong>is</strong>tians present some passages attributing divinity and l<strong>or</strong>dship toJesus (PBUH), and they believe that these w<strong>or</strong>ds are evidence f<strong>or</strong>h<strong>is</strong> Divinity. The first <strong>is</strong> h<strong>is</strong> name “Yashua”, which derives from theHebrew w<strong>or</strong>d “yehwa khalas” which means, “God has saved”.Another passage <strong>is</strong> what comes in the Book of Isaiah, “F<strong>or</strong> to us achild <strong>is</strong> b<strong>or</strong>n, to us a son <strong>is</strong> given: and the government shallbe upon h<strong>is</strong> shoulder: and h<strong>is</strong> name shall be calledWonderful, Counsel<strong>or</strong>, The mighty God, The everlastingFather, the Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6).They also believe that David’s description of the coming savi<strong>or</strong> <strong>is</strong>und<strong>is</strong>putable proof because David called him “L<strong>or</strong>d”. “The LORDsays to my L<strong>or</strong>d; Sit at my right hand, until I you’re yourenemies your footstool. The LORD sends f<strong>or</strong>th from Zionyour mighty scepter. Rule in the midst of your enemies!Your people will offer themselves freely on the day of yourpower, in holy garments; from the womb of the m<strong>or</strong>ning,the dew of your youth will be yours. The LORD has <strong>sw</strong><strong>or</strong>nand will not change h<strong>is</strong> mind, "You are a priest f<strong>or</strong>everafter the <strong>or</strong>der of Melchizedek." ” (Psalms 110: 1-4)Ibrahim Saeed, an Egyptian priest, says:“Any <strong>one</strong>, who <strong>is</strong> not convinced with Jesus’ Divinity after readingPsalm 110, <strong>is</strong> <strong>one</strong> of two people. Either he <strong>is</strong> an illiterate andign<strong>or</strong>ant, whose eyes are covered with stupidity so he will not be ableto see, <strong>or</strong> he <strong>is</strong> an arrogant, whose heart <strong>is</strong> filled with stubb<strong>or</strong>nnessand he does not want to see”. 1There <strong>is</strong> another passage, which they also believe <strong>is</strong> proof of Jesus’Divinity, that passage <strong>is</strong> in the Book of Isaiah, “Theref<strong>or</strong>e theL<strong>or</strong>d himself shall give you a sign; Behold, the virgin shallconceive, and bear a son, and shall call h<strong>is</strong> nameImmanuel.” (Isaiah 7:14) f<strong>or</strong> the w<strong>or</strong>d “Emanuel” means, “God withus”.They believe that Jesus’ birth (PBUH) was a fulfillment of th<strong>is</strong>prophecy, as the angel f<strong>or</strong>etold Mary’s fiancé, Joseph the Carpenter.1 - Luke’s Gospel Commentary, Ibrahim Saeed, pp 504
