(٦٥)IS ALLAH (S.W) ONE OR THREE?“They were afraid, and they gl<strong>or</strong>ified God, who had givensuch auth<strong>or</strong>ity to men.” (Matthew 9:8)They considered Jesus (PBUH) as <strong>one</strong> of the people, a man, and notGod, and h<strong>is</strong> ability to cure was from Allah (S.W), the Healer.The blind man, whom Jesus (PBUH) healed, acc<strong>or</strong>ding to the Gospelof John, considered Jesus (PBUH) as a man only. “So they said tohim, "Then how were your eyes opened? He an<strong>sw</strong>ered,"The man called Jesus”.” (John 9/10-11) Do those people, whoconclude Jesus’ (PBUH) divinity f<strong>or</strong> curing the blind man, know, loveand care f<strong>or</strong> Jesus m<strong>or</strong>e than that blind man?When Jesus (PBUH) rebuked the wind and the sea and they obeyedhim, the witnesses did not understand that he was divine, in spite ofthe greatness of th<strong>is</strong> miracle, but instead they wondered about thepower of Jesus the man. Matthew said, “And the men marveled,saying, "What s<strong>or</strong>t of man <strong>is</strong> th<strong>is</strong>, that even winds and seaobey him?” (Matthew 8/27).At the time when Martha, Lazarus’ s<strong>is</strong>ter, asked Jesus (PBUH) togive life to her brother, she assured him of her knowledge that thesemiracles were from Allah (S.W), who gave it to Jesus (PBUH) to aidand supp<strong>or</strong>t him. She said, “But even now I know thatwhatever you ask from God, God will give you.” (John 11/22).Confirming the same idea, Peter, the leader of the d<strong>is</strong>ciples said tothe crowd, “Jesus of Nazareth, a man attested to you by Godwith mighty w<strong>or</strong>ks and wonders and signs that God didthrough him.” (Acts 2/22).Nicodemus, the teacher of The Law, realized the secret of Jesus’(PBUH) great miracles, and that they were from Allah (S.W) andbecause of H<strong>is</strong> help and aid to Jesus (PBUH). He said to Jesus(PBUH), “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come fromGod, f<strong>or</strong> no <strong>one</strong> can do these signs that you do unless God <strong>is</strong>with him.” (John 3/2).The Gospels also declare that these miracles are no m<strong>or</strong>e than giftsfrom Allah (S.W), and Jesus (PBUH) was cautious that he could notdo it all the time. Theref<strong>or</strong>e, when he came to the dead man Lazarus,he was w<strong>or</strong>ried that he might not be able to do a miracle. “Some ofthem said, "He gives sight to the blind.
