(٤)IS ALLAH (S.W) ONE OR THREE?JESUS CHRIST IN MUSLIM BELIEFThe Muslims’ belief in Jesus (PBUH), in summary, <strong>is</strong> that he <strong>is</strong> theson of the truthful and hon<strong>or</strong>ed Mary; he was b<strong>or</strong>n miraculouslywithout any male intervention <strong>or</strong> contact. Allah (S.W) sent him as aprophet and messenger to the Children of Israel, to declaremonothe<strong>is</strong>m and to prophesize the coming of the final prophet. Allah(S.W) also supp<strong>or</strong>ted him with great miracles. Challenging the Jews,who wanted to kill him as was their habit of killing prophets, hecontinued h<strong>is</strong> m<strong>is</strong>sion, and Allah (S.W) saved him from their wickedconspiracy and lifted him to the heavens.Muslims also believe that Jesus (PBUH) will come back again bef<strong>or</strong>ethe Day of Judgment, calling all to w<strong>or</strong>ship Allah (S.W), the One andonly, following H<strong>is</strong> statute and Law, breaking the cross and ra<strong>is</strong>ingthe flag of monothe<strong>is</strong>m.To clarify th<strong>is</strong> belief and f<strong>or</strong> m<strong>or</strong>e illustration, we will review theverses of the Holy Quran, that Allah (S.W) has revealed regardingJesus (PBUH).The Holy Quran mentions that Allah (S.W) has hon<strong>or</strong>ed Jesus(PBUH) by making him the son of the pure Virgin Mary, whom Allah(S.W) had chosen above the women of all nations. “Behold! Theangels said, "O Mary! Allah hath chosen thee and purifiedthee- chosen thee above the women of all nations.” (HolyQuran, 3: 42)It also mentions that, Allah (S.W) hon<strong>or</strong>ed her with many graces,“Right graciously did her L<strong>or</strong>d accept her: He made hergrow in purity and beauty: To the care of Zakariya was sheassigned. Every time that he entered (her) chamber to seeher, he found her supplied with sustenance. He said: "OMary! Whence (comes) th<strong>is</strong> to you?" She said: "From Allah.f<strong>or</strong> Allah Provides sustenance to whom He pleases withoutmeasure.” (Holy Quran, 3: 37), that Zachariah adopted her after hermother took a covenant on herself to give her child to Allah (S.W),and that He <strong>or</strong>dered her to w<strong>or</strong>ship Him. "O Mary! W<strong>or</strong>ship ThyL<strong>or</strong>d devoutly: Prostrate thyself, and bow down (in prayer)with those who bow down." (Holy Quran, 3: 43)Mary (PBUH) became pregnant with her child after Allah (S.W) hadgiven her a glad tiding by the angel, and He gave him a name.“Behold! the angels said: "O Mary!
