<strong>Journalists</strong> <strong>in</strong> Pris<strong>on</strong>Intelligence agents arrested Mohebbi, an 18-year-old blogger fromAmol <strong>in</strong> nor<strong>the</strong>rn Iran, at his home and placed him <strong>in</strong> cus<strong>to</strong>dy at SariPris<strong>on</strong>, <strong>the</strong> reformist news website Saham News reported. He is <strong>the</strong>youngest pers<strong>on</strong> <strong>on</strong> CPJ’s <strong>2010</strong> pris<strong>on</strong> census.Mohebbi wrote about social issues, particularly women’s rights, <strong>on</strong>a pers<strong>on</strong>al blog. He also wrote <strong>in</strong> support of <strong>the</strong> Change forEquality campaign, an effort <strong>to</strong> reform laws that discrim<strong>in</strong>ate aga<strong>in</strong>stwomen.On November 14, Mohebbi appeared <strong>in</strong> a Sari court <strong>to</strong> face chargesof “act<strong>in</strong>g aga<strong>in</strong>st nati<strong>on</strong>al security,” “<strong>in</strong>sult<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> supreme leader,”and “propagat<strong>in</strong>g aga<strong>in</strong>st <strong>the</strong> regime,” local and <strong>in</strong>ternati<strong>on</strong>al mediareported.
