He also expelled a journalist from <strong>the</strong> brief<strong>in</strong>g.BBC reporter J<strong>on</strong>ah Fisher, <strong>on</strong>e of several journalists attend<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong>press c<strong>on</strong>ference at ANC headquarters <strong>in</strong> Johannesburg, was ordered<strong>to</strong> leave after challeng<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> ANC leader’s criticism of Zimbabwe’soppositi<strong>on</strong> Movement for Democratic Change, accord<strong>in</strong>g <strong>to</strong> news reports.Malema had lambasted <strong>the</strong> party for ma<strong>in</strong>ta<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g offices <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> affluentJohannesburg suburb of Sandt<strong>on</strong>. It’s not America.It’s Africa.” In a statement, <strong>the</strong> ANC c<strong>on</strong>demned Malema’s behavior as“aggressive and <strong>in</strong>sult<strong>in</strong>g,” accord<strong>in</strong>g <strong>to</strong> news reports.UgandaAuthorities harassed and obstructed journalists cover<strong>in</strong>g two s<strong>to</strong>riesthat shook <strong>the</strong> nati<strong>on</strong>: a fire that destroyed a his<strong>to</strong>ric Bugandak<strong>in</strong>gdom site and tw<strong>in</strong> terror bomb<strong>in</strong>gs <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> capital. The press w<strong>on</strong> animportant legal vic<strong>to</strong>ry as <strong>the</strong> C<strong>on</strong>stituti<strong>on</strong>al Court struck down a crim<strong>in</strong>alsediti<strong>on</strong> statute that had been used <strong>to</strong> silence critical journalists.
