million hits 10. The website has a Ukra<strong>in</strong>ian and Russian<br />
version.<br />

Korespondent is Ukra<strong>in</strong>e’s most popular onl<strong>in</strong>e news<br />
source. The monthly hit rate <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> website reaches <strong>the</strong><br />
number <strong>of</strong> 42.2 million. 11 The website has a Ukra<strong>in</strong>ian and<br />
Russian version. Apart from <strong>the</strong>ir own journalists’ reports,<br />
Korespondent also publishes news and expert reviews by<br />
<strong>the</strong> BBC Ukra<strong>in</strong>e.<br />
FINDINGS:<br />
Between 1 January 2011 and 1 January 2012 <strong>the</strong> follow<strong>in</strong>g<br />
EU-related events received <strong>the</strong> greatest coverage <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
Ukra<strong>in</strong>ian media:<br />
The Tymoshenko Case and <strong>the</strong> European Values and<br />
Identity<br />
The case <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> ex-Prime M<strong>in</strong>ister Yulia Tymoshenko was<br />
one <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> most prevalent topics <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> Ukra<strong>in</strong>ian media. A<br />
lot <strong>of</strong> attention was paid to <strong>the</strong> European reaction to <strong>the</strong><br />
development <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> case and its <strong>in</strong>fluence on EU-Ukra<strong>in</strong>e<br />
relations. 12<br />
F<strong>in</strong>ancial assistance and energy sector cooperation<br />
One <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> most prom<strong>in</strong>ent <strong>the</strong>mes <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> media was that <strong>of</strong><br />
<strong>the</strong> EU provid<strong>in</strong>g f<strong>in</strong>ancial assistance to Ukra<strong>in</strong>e. 13<br />
- Cooperation with<strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> energy sector was also a prom<strong>in</strong>ent<br />
