RIDSDALE-DIETERTSHELL MOULD TENSILE ACCESSORY (<strong>AFS</strong>) (cont’d)IIITEST PROCEDURE (cont’d)WITHOUT DELAY :-(f)(g)(h)Place the strike-off edge along the longitudinal centre-line of the mould and, holding itperpendicular to the mould surface, strike off the excess sand from the centre lineoutwards, first from one side, then the other.Place the filled mould in a suitable oven (or enclosed stove) for the appropriate time.Remove the specimens from the mould and allow to cool to room temperature.Check the thickness (¼ inch) of the specimens before testing.(i)(ii)Ensure that the inserts have been fitted in the Tensile Core StrengthAccessory in order to centralise the Tensile Shell specimen.The Shell Mould Tensile specimens can be tested on the Universal <strong>Sand</strong>Strength Machine.
