If the reading is incorrect check for sand grains or a burr on the anvilplate which would cause the error.If the surface is clear and the reading is still incorrect, loosen the indicator bezel clampingscrew while holding the tester firmly against the hard flat surface and turn the bezel to obtaina reading of 100.
