Carefully lower the plunger into the hopper and line up.Ram with four blows.Raise the plunger, turn the core box assembly through approximately 45° and allowthe weight of the ram to rest on top of the hopper. Insert the knife from one end ofthe assembly and cut off the core specimen.Remove the core box assembly from the rammer and lift off hopper. Set the corebox with drying plate on the bench and rap lightly.
