The green compression strength of the mould is indicated by the maximumreading slave pointer.NOTE:Since this test is subject to an operator variable, it is suggested that the operatormake practice tests on an <strong>AFS</strong> 2 inch diameter x 2 inch length test specimen, restingon the stripping post before it is stripped from the specimen tube. Other specimensof the same sand can be tested with the Green Compression Strength Machine, orthe Universal <strong>Sand</strong> Strength <strong>Testing</strong> Machine, so that the operator can observe thedesired loading rate and have reference values for evaluating his test procedure.130
