Few were willing to use the complaintssystem and a number reported not wanting to challenge the hospital at a time when they arevulnerable and their mind is on other things. There was clearly a desire across the cohort toshare knowledge, skills and evidence to help address barriers faced by LGBT. It appearslocal healthcare providers may have missed opportunities to engage in a meaningful waywith groups like this (and voluntary and community sector organisations like ELOP) in thepast.166
