Whipps Cross collate, <strong>and</strong> havepresented, data relating to detriments experienced by different staff members. Staff fallinginto this category are:staff who either fail to pass through an Agenda for Change gateway, consultants on thenew contract who have incremental progression withheld, <strong>and</strong> staff who aredowngraded or dismissed due to capability 12Newham provided information on the number of staff demoted. While the category used byWhipps Cross is obviously wider, the two sets of data are here provided together for thesake of convenience.It is important to note that the number of cases in each data set is small (for Newham, n=32;for Whipps Cross, n=9). Additionally, the data applies to time periods of different length (seeappendix C).4.3.1 AgeWithin the period in question, six people within the 35-39 age group were demoted atNewham (figure 4.3.1a).
