Insert the Chip Carrier Extraction Tool, which was supplied with yourchip, into the two spaces provided in the IC socket (positions 2 on thediagram) and gently pry the chip upwards until it is freed from thecontacts.CautionBe careful not to insert the Extraction Tool too far into thespaces, as it will become lodged on the base of the socket, andwill bend or break the chip socket if too much pressure isapplied.6. Discard the used chip, as you will no longer require it.7. Holding the new CPU Boot Flash Chip pin side down, locate thesmall indented dimple on the shorter beveled side of the chip. Thiscircle must be lined up with the small arrow located within the ICsocket. If you have placed the card right side up as per the diagram, thearrow will be pointing downward on the bottom edge of the socketbase.8. Carefully position the new chip over the IC socket, with the arrow anddimple aligned as stated above.NoteIf the chip is positioned properly, you will notice that thebottom right corner is beveled to match the shape of the socket(position 3 on the diagram), thus preventing improper insertionof the chip.9. Insert the chip into the socket, pressing gently to fasten the chip intoplace.10. Replace the <strong>CDK</strong>-<strong>111A</strong>-<strong>Lite</strong> card into the <strong>Ross</strong>Gear frame slot fromwhich it was removed.11.
