4 Burner4.2.4 Combustion air control for low pollutantemissionsA further important feature of all Logatop VM is thecombustion air control. This regulates the ratio of air togas via a pneumatically activated pressure differentialcontroller ( fig. 25, [1]). This measures the pressuredifferential between the static fan pressure and thepressure in the mixing zone, and if it deviates from the setvalue, the gas pressure is automatically adjusted. Thisresults in excellent combustion with optimum, consistentlyhigh CO 2 levels throughout the operating range. Burner44.2.5 Gas connection and specificationAll Logatop VM premix gas burners are prepared formodulating operation with natural gas E and LL. Inaddition, type Logatop VM2.0/3.0 burners can also beoperated with LPG.All burners are factory-set to natural gas E.The Logatop VM2.0/3.0 can be converted to naturalgas LL by simply replacing the two gas butterfly valves(included in the burner standard delivery). Gas butterflyvalves for LPG are available as accessories.The Logatop VM4.0/5.0 can be converted to naturalgas LL by replacing the central gas butterfly valve at thefan inlet (included in the burner standard delivery).A fitting is made available at the factory for the gasconnection ( fig. 23, [5], page 31). With the LogatopVM2.0/3.0, the gas connection can be made on the left orright hand side. A contractor can easily change the gasconnection direction on site, depending on which side thedoor hinges. For this, it is simply a matter of releasing twofittings and rotating the gas manifold.A better visual impression is created if the gas connectionis installed entirely inside the boiler casing. To do this, thegas line is routed on site from the fitting on the gasmanifold, inside the burner hood downwards and throughthe relevant apertures in the front and back panels of theboiler block, so that the gas connection is located with allthe other connections at the back of the boiler.With the Logatop VM4.0/5.0, the gas connection is madeon the left hand side.
