5 Regulations and operating conditions5.8 Combustion airWhere combustion air is concerned, ensure that it is notheavily contaminated with dust and contains nohalogenated compounds. Otherwise there would be a riskof damage to the combustion chamber and secondaryheating surfaces.Halogen compounds are highly corrosive. These arecontained, for example, in spray cans, thinners, cleaning &degreasing agents and in solvents.Design the combustion air supply so that, for example, noextract air is drawn in from chemical cleaners or paintshops. Heating controls66 Heating controls6.1 Logamatic 2000 and 4000 controlsystemsA control unit is required to operate the floor standingcondensing boilers. The Buderus control systems are ofmodular design. This enables the system to be matchedaffordably to all applications and equipment installed inthe intended heating system.The Logamatic 2107 (Logamatic 2000) can only be usedfor the Logano plus SB315 floor standing condensingboiler. It is designed for low temperature and condensingoperation, and in the standard equipment level, regulatesone heating circuit without mixer and DHW heating with aDHW circulation pump. For the Logamatic 2107, theFM242 function module (accessory) is essential. Withadditional function modules, a heating circuit with mixerand a solar thermal system with one consumer can becontrolled.The Logamatic 4000 control system is suitable for allBuderus boilers. The standard equipment level andextension modules offer a wide range of control functions.For more detailed information, see the technical guides on“Logamatic 4000 modular control system” for floorstanding boilers and “Logamatic 4411 control panelsystem”.6.1.1 Logamatic 4211 control unitThe Logamatic 4211 can be used for single boilersystems. It is designed for low temperature andcondensing operation with a 2-stage or modulatingburner. In the standard equipment level, the deviceregulates one heating circuit without mixer and DHWheating with a DHW circulation pump. Up to four heatingcircuits with mixer can be controlled with correspondingfunction modules.6.1.2 Logamatic 4212 control unitThe Logamatic 4212 control unit is a conventional devicefor operation with a constant boiler water temperature.Burner switching commands from a higher ranking controlunit (if installed, e.g. Logamatic 4411, DDC (direct digitalcontrol) systems, building management systems, etc.) areforwarded to the burner via the Logamatic 4212 controlunit. The standard equipment levels includes the safetyequipment for 2-stage burner operation. The ZM427auxiliary module enables a boiler circuit actuator to becontrolled or burner stages to be released via a higherranking control unit using floating contacts.6.1.3 Logamatic 4321 and 4322 control unitsThe Logamatic 4321 control unit is designed for lowtemperature and condensing operation in single boilersystems with up to eight heating circuits with mixer. 2- and3-boiler systems require a Logamatic 4321 control unitfor the first boiler that functions as the “master” and aLogamatic 4322 control unit as the lag appliance for eachof the second and third boilers. The combination ofdevices with corresponding function modules can controlup to 22 heating circuits with actuator.Further benefits with the Logamatic 4321 and 4322include:• output-dependent control of modulating burners• burner control, either via three-point stepper controlleror 0-10 V, enables optimum energy savings• speed control for modulating boiler circuit pump via 0-10 V guarantees power saving pump operation.6.1.4 Logamatic 4411 control panel systemThe Logamatic 4411 control panel system from Buderusis the comprehensive solution, representing advancedcontrol technology for complex heating systems thatrequire system-specific control. Your local sales office( back cover) can assist with the engineering andsupply optimum system solutions for each individual case.This also applies to DDC (direct digital control) systemsand building management systems.6.2 Logamatic telecontrol systemThe Logamatic telecontrol system is the ideal addition toall Buderus control systems. It comprises severalsoftware and hardware components and enables heatingcontractors to provide even better customer support andservices via a powerful remote control facility. It can beused in rental apartment buildings, holiday homes as wellas in medium and large heating systems.
