António de Almeida Chairman of the Audit Committee<br />
He graduated in Economy from the Faculty of Economy<br />
of Oporto University (1961). He was secretary of State<br />
<strong>for</strong> the Treasury (1978-1980 and 1983-1985). He was a<br />
specialist of the Mozambique Planning Services<br />
(1963-1965). In 1965 he was also financial manager of<br />
Companhia de Cervejas e Refrigerantes Mac-Mahon<br />
and financial manager and secretary general of<br />
Maragra. He was also director and deputy-chairman of<br />
the Mozambique Credit Institute from 1971 and<br />
member of the board of directors of the Mozambique<br />
Railways (1972-1974). In 1974 he was appointed<br />
governor of the Bank of Angola, a position that he held<br />
until 1978, when he took over the chairmanship of<br />
União de Bancos Portugueses. He was also chairman of<br />
Lusoleasing and Heller Factoring Portuguesa, director<br />
of the Commercial Bank of Malawi and of The Bank of<br />
Lisbon and South Africa. He was Bank of Portugal’s<br />
consultant up to 1992 and chairman of the board of<br />
directors of <strong>EDP</strong> (1996-1998). He was also director of the<br />
EBRD (1999-2003).<br />
António de Sousa Non-executive Director<br />
He graduated from Universidade Católica Portuguesa<br />
in Administration and Management of Corporations<br />
(1977). He took his PhD in Administration and<br />
Management of Corporations, Strategic Planning area,<br />
at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania<br />
(1983). Since 2000 he has been chairman of the board of<br />
directors of Caixa Geral de Depósitos. Be<strong>for</strong>e that, he<br />
was governor of the Bank of Portugal (1994-2000),<br />
Assistant Secretary of State and Finance (1993-1994) and<br />
Assistant Secretary of State and of Foreign Trade (1991-<br />
1993). Also highlighted are his roles as secretary of State<br />
<strong>for</strong> Industry, chairman of the executive committee of<br />
Tottagespar and of the board of directors of Sulpedip<br />
and director of Banco Totta e Açores and of IPE. He was<br />
also consultant of the Industry and Energy Ministry and<br />
of various Portuguese and North American companies.<br />
At Universidade Católica Portuguesa he held the<br />
positions of member of the Senior Board and director of<br />
the Department of Management of the Faculty of<br />
Human Sciences.<br />
Arnaldo Navarro Machado Member of the Executive<br />
Committee<br />
He graduated in Naval Engineering from the University<br />
of Strachclyde, Glasgow. He was chairman of the<br />
executive committee of Sociedade Central de Cervejas,<br />
Internel (1992-1998), CPPE (1994-1997) and MRH<br />
(1997-1998). He was member of the board of directors of<br />
HLC, CERJ (1996-1998), Investco (1998), OPTEP (1997-<br />
1998), Turbogás (1995-1998) and <strong>EDP</strong> (1991-1992). He<br />
was deputy-chairman of the Board of Directors of <strong>EDP</strong><br />
from 1992 to 1998. He was also member of the board of<br />
management of Sociedade Central de Cervejas (1988-<br />
1991), chairman of the board of directors of Sociedade<br />
da Água de Luso (January 1990) and member of the<br />
board of directors of Setenave (1984-1988).<br />
Jorge de Oliveira Godinho Member of the Executive<br />
Committee<br />
He graduated from Instituto Superior Técnico in<br />
Electrotechnical Engineering and took his MBA at<br />
Universidade Nova de Lisboa. Up to 2003 he chaired the<br />
executive committee of EDINFOR and the board of<br />
directors of ACE. He participated in the 10 th and 11 th<br />
Constitutional Governments as secretary of State <strong>for</strong><br />
Fishing (1985-1990). As chairman of the board of<br />
directors of Portucel and Portucel Industrial between<br />
1990 and 1998, he was in charge of the restructuring of<br />
the company and made the start to its privatisation. He<br />
was also chairman of the board of directors of<br />
Docapesca, deputy-chairman of the Portuguese<br />
Industrial Association and member of the management<br />
of the Social Security Financial Management Institute, of<br />
the National Scientific and technological Research<br />
Board, of the Forum <strong>for</strong> Competitiveness, of Efacec and<br />
of the Fund <strong>for</strong> the Internationalisation of the<br />
Portuguese Economy. Representing <strong>EDP</strong>, he was<br />
deputy-chairman of the board of directors of Optimus<br />
(1998 to 2000) and director of OPTEP. He was Assistant<br />
and Senior Lecturer at IST. Between 1978 and 1982 he<br />
was Union Leader at <strong>EDP</strong> and member of the <strong>EDP</strong> Inter-<br />
Union Commission.<br />
