the undertaking. Work has now been suspended in
view of the new environmental requests made by the
authorities – not included in the concession contract –
which would substantially increase the costs of the
project and cause delays that could compromise the
economic feasibility of the undertaking.
Therefore, the Ener-Rede Couto Magalhães Consortium
• Feasibility studies of new hydroelectric plants
The feasibility study of the Ipueiras hydroelectric
power station has been concluded and the decision of
the authorities in respect of the licensing process
covered by this study is awaited. Also awaited is the
decision by the environmental authority allowing the
conclusion of the environmental studies in respect of
the Tupirantins hydroelectric plant. Studies concluded
drawing up these studies EDP will be entitled to bid in
the auction or to be reimbursed in respect of the costs of
the feasibility study.
