FONTARGEN A 721Welding rod for hard facingEN 14700: T Fe 20A 721 F= fine grain/70–120 mesh (0,2–0,12 mm)A 721 M= medium grain/30–40 mesh (0,58–0,42mm)A 721 G= coarse grain/10–30 mesh (1,68–0,58 mm)Composition, typical analysis (% w/w):WCFe60 RemainderCharacteristics / Applications:For the armour-plating of unalloyed and low-alloyed steel or cast steel to a max. of0,5 % C. Depositions on parts that are subjected to strong frictional wear. Wearing partsin coal, coke and slag processing plants, percussion drill bits, break bits, roller bits, millcrushers as well as parts subjected to a high amount of wear that must retain non-slipperyedges. Building industry, petroleum industry, cooking plants, coal mines and miningindustry. Welding: Hold burner flat. Heat workpiece to light red colour and melt off tip ofrod. Work from right to left.Tough, wear proof build-up alloy in which the very hard tungsten-carbide grains areembedded in a tough base material. Regular distribution of the tungsten-carbide grainduring welding will produce deposits with smooth surfaces. Depending on the type ofalloy and size of the workpiece we recommend preheating from 350-500°C. Joiningwith the base metal almost without mixing.Mechanical properties of pure welding deposit(Min. values at room temperature):Hardness of the tungsten carbide: 1700 – 2200 HV 0,1Hardness of the matrix:110 – 150 HBHeat sources:Acetylene torch, neutral to acetylene excessFlux:F 120 (Powder)Availability:Diameter (mm): 3,5 / more on requestLength (mm): 350/70008/08/Eb/0206
