FONTARGEN FONTINOX NPickling paste for stainless steelFONTINOX N contains hydrochloric acid and chlorides. 1 kg FONTINOX N is sufficientto treat 80-150m of weld seam with a discoloured zone of 5 cm width, FONTINOX Npassivates the surface of Cr Ni steel, due to the oxygen elimination caused by nitric acidcontent.Instructions for use:Read the safety recommendations before using FONTINOX N.Shake or stir FONTINOX N to a homogeneous consistency and apply generously with aflat brush (especially well suitable: FONTARGEN-FONTINOX-flat brush with plasticholder) on the seam to be pickled. The treated seams must be thoroughly washed withwater. Additionally, a brush (with natural, synthetic or stainless steel bristles) can be usedto remove the paste residues. Flushing by high-pressure cleaning unit is particularlyeffective.Neutralize acid residues with soda- and sodium carbonate leach bringing the pH-valuesto 6,5 - 9,0. FONTINOX N can be poured into the sewage system after cutting-offinsoluble components. Observe local sewage regulations.FONTINOX N must be protected from direct sunlight.Pickling temperatures +5 to +50 °CRecommended reaction times (at 20°C):Stainless and acid resistant steels:15-60 minutesCopper-nickel alloys:5-20 minutesNickel and nickel alloys:5-20 minutesWarning:FONTINOX N contains nitric and hydrofluoric acids. There is a serious risk of poisoningdue to inhaling, swallowing or in case of skin contact. Causes serious burns.Safety advice:Keep container tightly shut and store in a cool, well-ventilated room. Do not store nearfood. Avoid contact with skin, eyes or clothing. If a spatter happens to come into contactwith your skin or eyes, rinse abundantly in water. During processing wear safety glasses,protective clothing and impermeable gloves. Make sure ventilation is sufficient or wearan efficient breathing mask. Wash hands immediately after application. Neutralise floorsand objects contaminated by pickling paste with lime and abundantly flush with water. Incase of feeling ill consult a medical doctor and show him this warning.
