In fact, the U.S. Department <strong>of</strong> Labor predictsthe need for medical and health services managers will grow16 percent between 2006 and 2016. The Master <strong>of</strong> Science (MS) inhealth care administration is designed to give midcareer pr<strong>of</strong>essionalsthe specialized skills they need to fill those positions. It is also anappropriate program for those who have an undergraduate degree inhealth care but have not worked in the field. The curriculum coversfinancial decision making, research methods, information technology,long-term care, public health, legal issues, and more. The goal <strong>of</strong>the program is for students to garner a deeper understanding <strong>of</strong> thechallenges the health care industry faces and apply their extensiveknowledge <strong>of</strong> both the industry and management techniques toovercome those challenges.Program OverviewThe curriculum requires 36 credits <strong>of</strong> coursework, including 9 creditsin management foundation courses, 24 credits in health careadministration core courses, and a 3-credit program capstonecourse.Academic or Pr<strong>of</strong>essional PreparationThe MS in health care administration is designed for students witheducational and/or pr<strong>of</strong>essional work experience in the health carefield.
